SEAL was founded in 2023 by Dr. Morris Lockwood, who worked for over 30 years for ERA Technology Ltd and its successor companies, Cobham Technical Services and, more recently, RINA Consulting.

Morris has been a member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (now the IET) for over 50 years, and a fellow since 1997; prior to joining ERA Technology, he worked in the electronics and rail industries, and also held a lecturing post at UMIST. Morris is an internationally recognised expert in a number of fields including power systems and variable speed drives.

Morris has investigated over 500 failures, including assisting in troubleshooting malfunctions in systems as diverse as hospital nurse panic buttons, super-grid transformers, and cracking in large boilers.

Expert Services

Dr Lockwood has given expert advice and support in legal cases for a number of major legal firms including Kennedys Law, Zelle International, and Clyde & Co.

Power systems analysis

Dr Lockwood was Head of Power Systems at ERA Technology for many years and led the development of the ERACS Power Systems Analysis suite. He was the main technical resource on that team including the development of AVR and governor models.
